SAP Lumira Designer is the inheritor of the ubiquitous SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio. Actually, it encompasses the capabilities of Design Studio as well as the visual effects of SAP Lumira. Additionally, SAP BusinessObjects Lumira Designer also brings in new features to make the solution match up to competing software and the rising demands for advanced analytics and visualization.
With the release of version 2.1, further additions have been made on top of version 2.0 to make developers and end users’ work faster and more efficient.
We will look at some of the biggest features added into SAP Lumira Designer 2.1
Comments are a component newly added with version 2.1. This is a feature that allows users to add comments at runtime, either for the entire dashboard or certain components.
An addition that allows users to create their own components at runtime. Indeed, it can be used to create not only Components, but Data Source and Property Bindings as well. Unfortunately, it involves a lot of scripting from the developers. However, it gives the end users a true feeling of control, and thus, self-service BI.
Another Technical Component added in 2.1. Application Lists allow users to access lists of bookmarks from other Lumira applications and launch these applications with the saved bookmark.
In conclusion, Enhancements are made to Chart options at run time, export to PDF and to Conditional Formatting properties.
